The scores of Australia and Sri Lanka in the first test played in Australia are given below:
Australia 1st Innings : 551 for 4 wickets declared.
Sri Lanka 1st innings : 211 all out.
Sri Lanka 2nd innings : 300 runs all out
Sri Lanka lost the first test played at Brisbane by an innings and 40 runs.
India's much talked about strong batting line up again collapsed, whereas their under rated bowling line up
performed better than expected. Had Indian batsmen
lived upto their reputatioon, India could have given scare to Australia in this test match.

But don't forget that You could not get more than 4 Aussie wickets.And both your innings total was less than what Aussies got for the loss of just 4 wickets.
We are very well aware that our most celebrated batsmen are not all that consistent.They have surrendered the advantage gained by their bowlers.
Ultimately they lost to a team superior in many ways.Sometimes we have even lost to the minnows.So no regrets.

Aus 1st innings against Srilanka=551/4
Aus 1st innings against india=343 all out
SL 1st innings against australia=211
ind 1st innings against australia=196
SL 2nd innings against australia=300
ind 2nd innings against australia=161
SL lost by an innings and 40 runs
ind lost by 337 runs
India was better than Srilanka
losing by runs is better than losing by an innings
Australia would have scored 400+ again in 2nd innings against srilanka
at nowhere it looked like srilanka is going to win 1st test
but on 1st day of ind-aus test match,it looked like a good contest

Indian batsmen are mentally very weak even though they have good experiance they just surrender meekly in tough conditions a sign of bad losers
