Absolutely not!
Growing up means becoming more alive than you ever knew possible while maintaining a childlike outlook. You have mature values, know how to act like an adult, but have fun doing it if you do it right.
There is nothing like enjoying your life with the eyes of a child and the mind of an adult.
Love what you do and do what you love.
Happy New Year!

Just grow up. I have used the term before meaning that its time you make better choices or better decisions. Why would it mean dying a little inside? Not at all. You have enter a new stage in your life where you become more responsible for yourself and your actions.

I am older than you by twenty years or so and yes parts of us tend to die. Emotionally I think some of us gain stability with age. I remember when I was in my twenties and I didn't really have a clue with regard to what I wanted out of life. As long as it was fun I thought it was OK. When I reached my thirties I enacted change as a tool for self preservation. Now that I am in my forties I have to work hard just to keep things the same and overcoming major obstacles has become routine. I will tell you one thing that doesn't change unless you give up and that is hope. I am never going to stop dreaming and desiring the good things in life for as long as I live. In other words I want to remain like child inside full of excitement when it comes to enjoying life.

No.
That is what loss means.
Loss is what makes you feel lik you are going to die if not in whole then in part.
I have lost many and each time it felt like a part of me died too.
I don't think I grew up any. I just died a little.
Growing up just means learning and getting bigger in the process.
People think it means growing old but that is an entirely different perspective on life I don't share.
I grow wiser not older.
That is the way I am.

Growing up, for the most part, is realizing that life is short, disappointing, and miserable. The more you realize this, the more reason you have to try hard to make your life an awesome one. But, unfortunately, being exceedingly aware of your own inevitable mortality can be severely demotivating and debilitating, so maybe growing up is a number of phases and growing up too fast is really unhealthy for your mind.

To me yes...I have lost many relatives and friend's to death and almost lost my brother when he was in high school....a bunch of guys tied his hands behind his back, wrapped their dobermon's leash around his neck and hung him from the rafters in their basement...by the Grace of God, the older brother of one of them, grabbed my brother around the waist just in time as he was falling...he came home with a mighty red mark around his neck...our mother called the police and when the police questioned them, ''what would they have done if he died'', they said that they would have thrown him in the field somewhere. I also almost lost one of my brother-in-laws to attempted murder...won't go into that [too long of a true story]...but, yes, every time someone dies in my life, I die a little inside...sometimes a lot. Can you imagine me walking into a field and seeing my closest brother dead...I would have gone CRAZY. The older I get, the more I die inside each time I see my relatives and friends dying around me...and this does not necessarily mean a physical death, but seeing and feeling the pain of my loved ones.

Growing up means living - new experiences - new memories - new people. Growing up is where you go after you are groomed for the outside world. It is whatever you want it to be. Death comes later.

Yes your cells die off and regenerate new ones when you grow. The same is true of beliefs, friendships, family members. Some of these die off as well as you grow up only to be replaced with new more viable ones

youth is not the only stage of life. yes, you may miss it. but really the joys of youth are all for vanity. when you age, you appreciate things more, if you look at life correctly.
