dinner at agave (great mexican restaurant in summerlin) then party the night away at cherry (the club at the red rock casino). really looking forward to it, it's been a while since i've had a real new year's celebration. and it's all about ten minutes away from home- definite plus. i wouldn't go to the strip or downtown if you paid me.

Stay at home (about fifteen minutes east of Bally's), watch the fireworks on Channel 8, then go to bed. New Year's Day we get up and watch the Rose Parade. Then it's off to a brunch at some Strip property. Gives us a chance to view the carnage left behind by several hundred thousand drunken amateurs.

Most locals who have lived here for any time, find the crowds and explosive prices on The Strip or Downtown obnoxious and chose to either go to a local casino, friend's house, or just stay home.
I plan on staying home away from the noise, crowds, drunks, and IF I am awake watch the Strip fireworks on TV, warm and happy.

sleep. have a few beers.
will walk a block from the house and can see the valley and watch the fireworks.
I live on Black Mountain In Henderson, so I can get a great view and do not have to deal with the traffic

We just moved here 4 mos ago. At first we thought we would do it "up", but then we saw how ridiculously expensive it is... But then a couple of my boyfriend's co-workers invited us out to the Voodoo, VIP style, how can you say no to that...

stay home .. watch the fireworks on the strip from my patio. Don't need to go out with all the crazies.
