I actually have worn my slippers to the store for that very reason......:D
Okay.....you're right, it was more to embarrass my kids....:)
Did I mention that they're Winne the Pooh slippers? (imagine two giant WtheP heads comin' atcha down the cereal aisle.....I was in hysterics while my kids had grabbed paper bags and put them over their heads so they weren't recognized by anyone:)

I wear my pajamas to stores all the time. I couldn't stand to be a girl who wears work clothes and heels. Man. My grandmother does that, and she complains that her feet hurt halfway through the store. I like to get my shopping done at night, when a lot of the people have already gone home, and I've had time to relax and get comfy BEFORE shopping.

Noooooooo. I'm really freaky about always presenting well in public. I guess it's just a self esteem thing but I try to dress well and look presentable.
I have a fear of looking stupid which has probably become a self fulfiling prophecy.
My painting clothes are a different story, they are groovy, technicolor and paint spattered.

I have accidentally forgotten I had my slippers on and ran to the store....no one noticed at all.
The robe would be harder to sneak by.....
