What kind of spider is this?
Me and my wife have a 3 week old baby and we have been getting these spiders relatively frequently. They are very big much like a wolf spider but I know that they are not one of those. They have "muscular" legs unlike a wolf's thinner legs.
They are not afraid of people. We see them run, then they stop and we are able to get very close to observe and photograph before whacking it.
We are deathly afraid of spiders so please no one say that it is better to leave them alone. We basically live always keeping and eye out and worry about the baby.
Please identify it, and is it aggressive or poisonous???

My guess is Ariadna bicolor. The best identifying characteristic is that it directs three pair of legs forward. If you can look that close it has 6 eyes closely grouped and if you can get it into a glass it has 4 respiratory slits on the bottom front of the abdomen. All spiders carry some venom but most have too small a fangs to inject into skin. Babies however have very soft skin. Even if it did bite the baby the worse you would get is a bite mark. Note this is a guess from a not very detailed picture.

It looks like a wolf spider (there are several different species of wolf spider so just because this one has "muscular legs" does not mean it's not in that family). That or it could be a species of grass spider. Either way it is harmless, if you see another one just put it outside. It poses no threat to your baby and the worse that can happen if ze is bitten is an itchy/swollen mark for a little while.
