You can re-install your sims game. RAM is different from regular memory. RAM comes in cards that you plug into your motherboard. You probably already have at least 512 MB of RAM. If not, just buy some. I recommend www.newegg.com
To see how much RAM you have right click on the My Computer icon and go to properties. The RAM is displayed in the first tab.

The only thing I understood was 512 of ram. Open Control Panel. Double click on System. A box will open with several tabs in it. In the General tab you will see what your processor is and how much ram (memory) you have. You may have enough. If not, find out what kind you need and how to install it. It's really about the most simple thing you can do to a computer. I use Crucial brand but there are others. Ask around. Checkout newegg.com. They will sell you the right ram for your computer.

OK, 512MB of ram is how much memory is on your computer. RAM stands for "random access memory". You may not have needed to uninstall Sims because that is put onto your hard drive and your memory is only used when you are working with that program and also is being used even while your computer is sitting idle, it just doesn't use as much memory in idle as it does when you work on something like in Microsoft Word or playing Sims. Also make sure you find out how much memory you will be able to install into your computer before you get it because it can mess your computer up if the max memory you can install is 512 and you try to put in 1 gig

RAM is random access memmory that is installed to the main board. When you uninstalled your sims, you only freed up space on your hard disk. You probably have 256 mb of RAM now, if you buy another 256 mg and have it put into your computer you should be OK.

this means you have to upgrade your RAM memory to play the specified object in this case SIMS so you have to buy a RAM memory of 512 or if you already have 256 just buy another compatible 256 RAM it depends of the motherboard if it supports DDR or DDR2 so after you buy it there are two or more slots where you can plug the RAM memory. or just take it to a PC technician give them the RAM memory and the will do the upgrade for you.

Ram is not for storage of files, ram is how fast your computer can compute things.

no computer can run of a 512mg hard drive, you need to buy more ram, which is like really cheap and really easy, except you have to install it manually into your computer.
