Do you think that being a pre-teen (12-13) is too young to make out with a guy?

Some girls at my school give guys b.j's!! eww so you think they should be doing that when their 12 years old? People at my school do drugs, and sell playboy mags. And this is a well respected school!

Just because other people at your school make poor choices, doesn't mean you have to. Make your own choices, and live with the consequences.

Okay, you should be old enough to know right from wrong. I don't recommend making out at your age but it isn't a horrible thing and no real harm can come from it if you both know that is as far as you are willing to go. Anything other than that is a VERY BAD IDEA! Do you realize that you can get STD's in your mouth and eyes? They aren't restricted to your vaginal area. PLUS, pregnancy at your age can be a killer for your successful future. Well, I'm sure you know drugs are a bad idea too. Just because something is the popular thing to do now while you are YOUNG doesn't make it a good idea. You need to be strong in your moral convictions to not do certain things to ensure your future. Respect yourself. Whether or not you were teased or popular in the 7/8 grade or even high school will not matter when you've finished college and have a successful life. This part of your life is only 7 years long, you don't want to ruin the next 50 over peer pressure that forces you to do something you don't want to or that you know is wrong & a bad idea just so some kid will pretend to be your friend.

Here is the thing, guys don't respect you if you are easy. They get what ever you are willing to give and tell their friends so they can get some too. You may feel popular and wanted but secretly you'll be a joke and won't even know it.

It worries me that you even need to ask this question. You need to be having a dialog with your parents about these things. It may be weird at first but they can be more help than you think.

What ever you decide to do please think first.

Your school must just have a good name to it from the past....I wouldn't go there now! (Totally no offense, I don't know anything about your school except people do drugs and sell playboy, so that's not the best first impression)

I think preteens are way too young to make out with guys, that's how it was when I was a preteen (only 3 years ago) and now so much has changed. Right now the world has a mentality that everything is acceptable.

Kids playing adult games, and since they are taking that path, they will reap the consequences later because BJ's can give you AIDS, and STD's.
Now a days, a lot of kids your age do some dangerous things, and some risky things that will indeed affect their future. They may not see it now, because most kids your age, think that they know everything and they aren't going to get hurt, and are invincible (nothing will affect them negetively), to consequences. I hope you have a better head on your shoulder than your friends do. Be true to yourself. You know what's right and what's wrong. The ppl (kids) who are doing these drugs, BJ's, playboy mags etc., will always come up with an excuse to make you believe that it's the thing to do, and that it's alright to do them. It's not. It doesn't matter if it's a run down school, or a well respected school, kids are kids, and there is peer pressure everywhere and in every school. It's up to you to rise above that influence because you are worth more than what is around you right now with what your friends are doing. Don't be a follower. Be that person that someone can look up to. Befriend someone that no one else will. And do it genuinely, because they will end up your true friends. Most of the time that is. When I was your age, I was the outcast in school because I wouldn't follow what others were doing, and I was what they called, "chicken". But I didn't care because I knew better. And I knew and know right from wrong. It paid off because I had several friends in high school who looked up to me because of my strong values and morals. And I didn't budge when someone tried to break them. You have to be who you are, or you will end up doing things that are totally out of character for yourself. And in the end, you will feel shame.
So stand your ground. Rise above what is happening right now, and soon you will have followers who will look up to you because of your values and morals. :-)
Stay strong...I know school is tough, but the next four or five years will pass by before you know it.

Well, I'm already 15 and I have not had my first kiss yet!! I never felt like I was ready for it or comfortable with the guy to kiss him. I do think that 12 and 13 is too young but it all depends on the type of girl you are. All those other kids are trying to grow up too fast and get sucked in by peer pressure but I never did, which is why now that I'm in High School I am well respected and I have a good reputation and I feel like it was worth it for me to not pay attention to what everyone else was doing and stick with people who understood me. I see those girls now that did things like that back in MS and everyone else seems to think a lot less of them now. Especially since those girls are now all pregnant or just really easy (if you know what I mean). Again, it's all up to you and the type of person you are.

I had my first "make-out" when I was 13, just about to turn 14.


I regret doing it back then, but the guy that I made out with is now my boyfriend.


And if I was a parent, I would kill my child :P


I think that your school is a prime example of schools today.

here's a personal story from my school a couple years ago.


I had 2 friends in junior high that were "going out." They would go behind the shed and make out EVERY SINGLE DAY. I got kinda pissed because i had a huge crush on the guy. So, my friend Cassy told on their asses and they got in house suspended! Now the girl is pregnant with some guy who's a senior. You know, this is a really good example of what will happen to those kids in your school.

I do not think it is too young to make out with some one because at that age you are just starting to experiment. But for all of the other things you mentioned it is way too young. A pre-teen at that age should be worried about friends, school, and other things like that. Anything past making out is way too much and past boundaries.

Yes. You have enough peer pressure as it is and you dont know who you are yet as a person, so throwing yourself into something that is out of your league is not a good idea. All the other kids doing this stuff have no clue what they're doing and are only doing it because they feel pressured to do so and not because they truly feel they want to. Be smart, go with your gut feelings regardless of what other insecure, confused kids are doing. Protect yourself from diseases that are going around cause once you catch something its usually for life. Don't be a follower, be a leader instead.

That is way too young to even be thinking about that. I have a 12 year old daughter. She is still playing with Barbies. If I found out she was doing anything like that at her age, she would not have a butt left because I would have spanked it off of her.

Yes thats too young...im in High School and my school has none of that crap... the only thing i see is couples making out or holding hands in the halls but 12 to 13 is way too young

Well, it's okay to make out with him, as long as you don't go any farther at your age. You're too young, and you don't want to make a mistake.
