I think its cause girls really didn't have the good opportunity for an education like boys did back then

The girls were taught to cook, sew and junk like that

While the guys were being taught how to read and such

You think maybe thats why?

Actually, there are numerous women inventors. Too many to list in one post.

That's certainly part of an explanation as to why women don't figure in as great numbers as men in the lists of inventors.

Other factors could be that boys are 'traditionally' raised in our culture to tinker with things, gain skills in making things such as engines and are guided towards mathematics and science, which are subjects which can assist someone inventing a new products or item.

Another factor could be that 'inventing' something takes a lot of time and resources, and most adult men have been able to rely on having their needs for food, clothing and organisation managed by a wife, so they have been free to devote energy to their work.

Nevertheless, women inventors are numerous as other answerers have pointed out, and have been throughout the centuries, so even the uneven playing field obviously can't stop bright ideas when they occur to the right people!

Cheers :-)

I think is the matter of chromosomes. Men XY as oppose to women XX. you see women's is in more order than men's. That is why men are more disordered beginning from their childhood on. they grow up like this and continue for their life like it. probably is not always good because when you see Wars are almost always started and continued by men killing millions and millions of human, men women and children. Well every advantage brings about its disadvantage too.

There are many reasons. Like you mentioned, girls were not taught what we believe to be a basic education until just over 100 year ago. Women also had families to care for quite often which limited there ability and time to experiment. Women traditionally have been geared toward English and the Arts in many schools and away from the Sciences. It has not been until the past couple of decades where effort has been made to make sure there is more equality and less biased among academic subjects and gender. But there are things still being invented, of which 20% are invented by women. One of my favorite...the Post-It note.

No intelligence to the degree to be an inventor is rare among men and even rarer among women. Science suffered an up and down, alternatively beeing praised and other times beeing rejected, it didnt stop the likes of galileo though. If it would be true what you said, in the past 50 years and coming 50 years women should be on par with men, but who was it who "invented" things like youtube google amazon ? It were all men and it wasnt exactly rocket science, though designing an effective search engine takes some knowledge.

There are a lot of woman inventors you just have to do some research. Disposable diapers and windsheild wipers were invented by women.

There have been a lot of female inventors. The problem with many of them was that their husbands often took credit for their inventions or they tried marketing their ideas and got nowhere with them. It used to be that a woman couldn't get a patent or nobody would take her invention seriously.

Sounds about right, though I wonder what there's really left to invent. Most inventors now aim for improving existing inventions.

During the time of the Industrial Revolution when many modern inventions came about women were relegated to the roles of wife and mother and were essentially prisoners in their own homes. None of them had time to invent much. But did you know that the circular saw was invented by a woman? I don't recall her name. She was a member of the very practical Shaker community.

There are, it's just that you haven't researched it. In the same way, if you asked me to name male inventers I couldn't name any expect um....alexander graham bell? I also couldn't name any astronauts male or female. But just because I haven't reserached it doesn't mean they don't exist.
