Check here a very effective sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

What is pinching the nerve? Is it muscle if that is the case I would find a massage therapist who specializes in hip/gluteal/lower back issues to release the muscles around the nerve. Remember this Muscles move bones, so if the bones are not in alignment it is the muscles that are pulling the bones out of place.

Check out Pete Egoscue on a search engine. His web site has a few exercises for the hip to do. He also has a book that I have seen on amazon for like 12-15 dollars dealing with chronic pain.. My clients have gotten great results from the book expecially after I released the muscles around the nerve area.

If your in the Northern Part of Utah or Southern Part of Idaho. I would say come see me. I do a body specific pain relief session for hip/gluteal/lower back issues. I've been a massage therapist for 20+ years. Professional athletes travel to get worked on by me.. But ask the therapist if they specialize in working the glutes and do they have experience in treating nerves been trapped by muscles..

Go to the doctor and have it checked on because pinch nerves are serious. Not only are they painful, but they limit your mobility. Furthermore, you surely don't want your nerve to be severed. In time that will most likely happen and it will result in permanent immobility in whatever muscle the nerve stimulates.

Change chairs, car seats, use a pillow. Try some gentle traction. This is a case of "if it feels good do it" If it hurts stop. Do you wear belts? are they tight? Elastic? Change things, wear suspenders, stop carrying a wallet in your pocket. Be more conscious of what you are doing, and how you are hurting yourself.
