I'll be seeing a doctor soon, but is there anything I should be knowledgable about? I don't have any cramping or discharge. The only thing I feel is that sort of 'icky' feeling that I should be having a period, but there's nothing. As far as I know there is no history of any disease in my family that could mess with my cycle. What could be wrong, and what exactly should I ask my doctor when I finally see him?

Good statements to the doctor would be about your level of activity; when you first started having your periods (what age); when was the last one and was it normal; are you on any medications at this time (take the pill bottles with you to the visit); are there other medical conditions you currently have.

Some female athletes don't have their periods when they are in hard training...for example, for the Olympics. That's what I meant by activity.

If you have never had sex nor been with a guy when he is ejaculating, it is impossible for you to be pregnant. It sounds more like a hormone imbalance to me but I am not a doctor.

There are so many things that affect your period. You're not pregnant, but are you on birth control? Have you lost of gained weight recently? Are you particularly stressed? Did you move in/out of living with several other women? Undergoing other major life changes?

Just see a doctor. If you're not having any pain or cramping, I wouldn't stress over it too much. It's certainly not going to help the situation. Just keep a record of any unusual symptoms you may be having.

hey. I'm 15, and I'm worrying about the same thing.
I've never had sex, and it's just this year that I've
become irregular. But I've talked to quiet a few people
about it, and they say that it's sometimes normal.
Isn't it that a girls body doesn't stop changing till she's
20 or something? Could just be that you body is
switching it's cycle around or something. idk.
But I know this is weird, but when you get back
from the doctor, you think you can email me and
tell me if maybe I should go to the doctor too? I know
that's strange, but I don't want to bother my ma,
if I don't really need to go. I'm really sorry.

there is serveral things that can chage, skip, and prolong your periods, rapid dieting, weight gain or loss, stress and many other factors can be fairly common, but to be on the safe side, I would suggest consulting a dr or health clinic, if money and ins is a issue, most health clinic are free or very minimal

my period is irregular and I am 18 and have had it since I was 11 and it skips months. If you lose weight, diet, stress and exercise alot it will delay your period. Still ask your doctor.
