"Who we are is a result of what we have thought"?

This famous quote by Buddha is one of my favorites and I want to know if you agree with it.

I highly agree with this quote to a full extent

Thoughts become words, words become actions, and our actions define who we are most of all.

This idea defines one of the biggest issues I have with the whole "I can look as long as I don't touch" theory. The thought of lust is there and entertained, it will be hard not to see it come to action eventually.

The only flaw I can see is this is that not all thoughts become actions, we can choose which ones we like and sometimes thoughts come whether or not we want or like them.

Definitely an advertisement for thought control though :)

To an extent , yes it can be true. However, science had come a long way after Buddhas time As an individual, your understanding of your surroundings is based on your perception of your surrounding. Psychologists have coined this to say that for many humans theur reality is what they perceive to be real..
