Personally I think you stay in a class until you've learned all you can learn from that teacher or group then you move on to the next class. An actor never stops training and learning. There is no set time, but I can't imagine you can go to an agent and pretend to be an expert on anything after say a month or two... I would say after 6 months when someone new comes in you'll say, oh wow, was I like that? Yikes!

When you join a class, it's usually for a month at a time or 6-8 weeks at a time, it's different everywhere. Make sure you know the terms up front. If you make a list of questions that you want to know (teacher's credentials, how long they've been teaching, how long the studio has been there, what exactly do they teach - improve, audition technique, scene study... do agents and casting directors come visit, etc.) Ask whatever is important to you. Make a few copies of the page and call each place you're interested in and write down the answers so you can compare them later. Another question to ask is if they'll let you try a class for free to see if you like if before committing to them long term.

good luck,
Marianne

It doesn't really matter how long you are in acting class, but it can help. If you have real talent then you most likely will want to be on a role and go for more. Hope it helped!

That is kind of a broad question. In acting class to do what? what is your goal? You mean how long do you have to be in acting class to become an actor? Well, it depends on a lot of things.
The class, your talent, luck, opportunity, etc, etc.

as long as it takes. even if you land big time roles you may still want the guidance and training. if you feel your no longer learning anything then suggest to become a teacher or most studios have a master class. good luck

Acting classes are one of the few places where the sooner you learn to fake it the faster you get to make it.
