Someone gave me a very nice shirt from Hollister (don't shop there; too expensive). I was soo happy! I thanked her so much for it. I've always wanted something from there, and it was really nice of my friend to do that for me. I was telling my sister how glad I was and she said I was being materialistic. I wasn't bragging to her or anythin, I was just trying to show that I was grateful for the gift. Do you agree with my sister that I was being materialistic?!

No, I don't agree with your sister that you were being materialistic. You were very happy to have received the gift from your friend. I was excited to receive this one Christmas gift this year from my mother. You were trying to share the joy you felt for having gotten the shirt and your sister was just not wanting to be happy with you. Who cares what she says? Just be happy for yourself that you got the gift. You were not bragging. Your sister was just jealous.

You're sister is jealous. I doubt you were bragging. If you believe you are grateful than you are. Don't let your sister get to you too much. She's just pushing your buttons. She's jealous.

Maybe a little...I think we all are, in ways...but I think your sister is overreacting. I know I would have reacted the same way as you did. Everybody likes to receive nice things, so I don't see anything wrong, really. Enjoy the gift, and don't let it bother you.

no! if you appriciate it and know that that was very nice of her, then that's not materialistic. materialistic is if you get something like that and it's "just another shirt"
