It depends on how often you're having sex. If you're not having sex often enough to satisfy his needs, then he is masturbating to make up for it. If you're not willing to have sex as often as he wants to (not that you should be), then you should just let him masturbate when he wants to.
If, however, he has the option of having sex with you but chooses to masturbate instead, that is a sign that something is wrong. You should have a frank discussion about your sex life together and see what he has to say about it.

it depends really. love it or hate it ladies but your guys are going to continue to masturbate no matter how much sex you are having together. it's just something that guys do and as long as you are not going completely without because of it then there is no problem. When it comes down to it, no one really hits the sweet spots as well as one can to themselves so self pleasure is always going to happen. Back to the issue at hand (ooh another pun intended! lol), if he is refusing to have sex with you only to then go off and j/o then that is a relationship issue that you two should rationally discuss. Don't berate him or make him feel emasculated in any way about it as that certainly will send things in a bad direction in a hurry. Just keep those lines of communication between the two of you real, respectful and always open.

Is he doing it because you are less interested in sex than he is? Sometimes you aren't around? Then, I wouldn't consider it a problem. If you want sex more than you are having, and he would rather masterbate, then that would be strange. In other words, if it's interfering with a normal sex life between you two, then it's a problem.

Not necessarily unless you've another problem in your sex life causing this as long as your current sex life is at the same level of satisfaction that it's always been. Men masturbate more then women in general and men use masturbation as a way to relieve stress. It's just more common for men, me are use to touching their genitals to go to the bathroom from a young age. Men are generally more prone to masturbation because they've testosterone I wouldn't worry about it.

No, not in my opinion and experience. If you deny him sex, that might be a legitimate reason I suppose, but you wouldn't be asking the question here if that was the case. How would he feel if you preferred masturbation to copulation?

masturbation is a normal part of a relationship. your fiance has a high sexual need. as long as your not being neglected by it, then let it go. if it bothers you, you could always join in.

Yes it is. He was doing it long before he met you and will continue to do it the rest of his life.

No it is not normal.
I would ask him what the problem is.
I would take that as an insult.
