My husband and I are like night and day, we learn so much from each other, it's almost scary! We are both from different worlds and my cousin once told me that we will never make it because we are so opposite. Truth is our marriage would have never worked with her big nose in our business, but that's besides the point. He is Mexican, I'm white, He has 6 brothers and sister and I am the only child. His parents were married until they passed, mine divorced when I was 8. It works because we love each other and are willing to work at our marriage...

Well, sometimes you just don't really like (or you just tired) of your self, you think that you're boring and you want see the other side of you, but sometimes there is NO other side, than you find a girlfriend (or boyfriend) totally opposite of you, and you just enjoying to be with them, and you see something different and I guess some people like that.

No, it's biologically productive to seek mates with similar genes. This is why a lot of older married couples look alike. The goal is to pass on as many of your genes as possible, so the opposites theory doesn't make sense.

Consider this: we are all imperfect people with something lacking in our person. We are thus attracted to opposites because we feel whatever aspects of this person's personality will transform us into completely whole beings. Hence the oft-quoted line from Jerry Maguire, "You complete me".

Guess it is very true because opposite sides compliment and supplement each other..we see like people marrying quiet women while they themselves are talkers...we see lovers walk hand in hand..one is super handsome, one is ordinary, it seems like you try to find your missing half that gives a complete link in your personality...........

They don't, imho. Attraction is a word not thoroughly defined. Only the ones that last mean anything. I want someone who is a soul mate to me.

My brother is a tattood illiterate amateur MMA fighter, his girlfriend is a Christian Oxford student.
I think its a rebelion thing on her part, her "bit of rough" so to speak, something to cause a stir at home with her parents

It is not always true, but some think that it is like two halves coming together to create a whole.

Well in my husbands case, he needs me around for the entertainment. Otherwise, we would bore everyone to death with the technical details of how everything works..
