I think he will come to an agreement with the Twins. They have the most to lose and they want to keep him. If not, he will most likely be traded to the Red Sox.

I'd say it's probably the Angels. The Red Sox and Yankees are playing too many games. The Angels have Jered Weaver and other good prospects on the table.
The Twins however would rather trade him to the NL. If the Mets would offer Reyes straight up, the deal would probably be done tomorrow. The Mets have said they will not offer Reyes so the Mets are pretty much out of it as of right now.
I expect there might be another NL team we don't know about yet just waiting and lurking....
The Red Sox and their fans think the Twins are dumb and I think the Twins front office is starting to get insulted. NOBODY wants Coco Crisp's HORRIBLE contract ($11 mill!). However, they keep insisting on putting him in a deal for Santana. Why would the Twins do the Red Sox a favor in taking Crisp for even a minor leaguer let alone the best pitcher in the game? Everyone KNOWS that the Red Sox will do anything to get rid of Crisp and his big contract because they want to start Ellsbury in CF!!!! Boston would trade Crisp for a box of Cocoa Crisp right now! And they expect the Twins to fall for a trade for SANTANA with Crisp in the deal? Crisp is NOT going to Minnesota! Epstain can't get that through his head so I think Boston is further out of it than most people think.
The Twins just want NEAR what the best pitcher in the game is worth and NOBODY has come even close so far.
The Twins have also offered Santana a 4 year 80 million dollar extension! The Twins want to keep him. He wants to stay if the money is right. It will probably take a 7 year deal to do it however.
My guess is the Twins will wait to see if they can sign him, wait until they get what they want or the trade deadline comes and some teams get desperate. The Twins will be able to get MORE at the deadline than the stingy Yankees and Red Sox are offering now!
I think the Twins should wait until the Yankees are 10 games behind Boston, and then run up the price on them. The Yankees will be desperate at that point and willing to give up their whole minor league system.

It is the Red Sox. The Yankees are not willing to offer up Kennedy and Hughes in the same package, and if this is the case the Red Sox have the best offer on the table with Lester, Crisp, Lowrie, and others as part of the deal.
The Angels have barely even been rumored to have interest, so I do not really know where that is coming from.
The Twins want to trade Johan to the National League and Johan would rather be in the weak National League and sign there so he does not have to face the DH. The Mets are the only NL team how has expressed strong interest, but I do not think they have enough young talent to get the deal done. They will understandably hold on to Reyes and Wright, in which case it will be very tough to get a deal done.
So as of now I say the Red Sox have the best shot, but I think the Twins will just end up holding on to him until the trading deadline.

I'm almost 100% sure that Johan will be with the Red Sox by next season.
Yankees are definitely the runnerups right now.
The only other team that still has a chance besides the Sox and Yanks are the Mets... but they just dont have the package it takes to get a deal done.

first of all the teams that have a realistic shot at santana are the mets, yankees, red sox, angels, & the twins.
the yankees would make the deal but they are unable to part w/ the future in phil hughes. yankees think hughes will be an ace. other than that these are the new yankees. yankees aren't going to be going out & spending alot through free agency. they want to build a team through the farm system.
the red sox just won the world series w/out johan santana. if they had him the red sox would be difficult to beat but they don't necessarily need him. they don't want to give up jacoby ellsbury from what i hear & if they did redsox nation would go through the roof.
the mets absolutely will nt give up jose reyes. reyes & david wright are the cornerstones for the future. they will never give him up in a million years.
the twins may just keep him. i do agree that they are overplaying their hand & need to make a decsion. my gut is they will trade him to the national league so they won't have to face him.

I still say he plays for the Twins this year & the Yankees offer him a bigger contract than the Red Sox & goes to the Big Apple but who really knows where he will go. I guess there will be about 1000 more questions about this before we really know where he goes to be honest.

As a life-long Yankees fan, I have to say the Red Sox (God I hated saying that!)
Old Junior screwed it all up, so it looks like the Yankees don't have a snowballs chance in hell of getting him. The Red Sox, however, are the frontrunners right now.
The yankees are done for a while. A new century... a new era!

Well once again it changed this week! Ok today it's the Red Sox! Yesterday it was the Mets! They keep flip flooping back and forth! 2 days ago it was the yankees! Who really cares anymore? May the better team win!!

As of right now, it's the Twins. They want WAY more than what anyone is willing to give up! And their GM just said he really wants to sign Santana to an extension.
