I'll bet Obama has met many, white and black folks that have experienced this. And, it broke his heart. That is one of the reasons he is running for president.

Have you ever met anyone who was sick, and had no insurance or a way to get emergency care? I know Obama has, and he took them to a doctor too. But he could get to everyone with the same problem. That is why he is running for president, and that is why he will win.

Correction: When he found out he could not get to all of the sick and help them, his mission was clear and he ran for an office in his state and now he is running for president.

Well I'm sure Obama cares about poor people, but he has wanted to run for president since he was in Kindergarden...he wrote a paper about it. So I hate to ruin your magical "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" story.

You're a fellow democrat and I respect your decision, but I am personally supporting Hillary. She has all the priorities as Obama, plus the experience that has proven she can turn "Hope" into an actual reality. You might want to consider that.

But anyway buddy, if Obama wins the primaries I'll definitely be voting for him. Either way, Obama or Hillary, we'll be far better off than we were under Dubya.

I have a 2nd home which is in Illinois (Southern Illinois). Obama has done nothing for these people down here. He came down here and campaigned and made great promises. He forgot all of these economically depressed folks down here in Southern Illinois after the Senate election. He never comes down here and has done nothing for these people. NOTHING!!!! You apparently do not know the real Obama. He is just another lying conniving politician who will say and do anything to get what he wants.

I think Obama has met poor people before but John Edwards was the first and has the most substantive plan to deal with poverty in the United States.

I have been hungry before, and it stops hurting after three days.
I've been poor before, and it doesn't matter who is running for president it won't change the fact that I know what it feels like to be poor and hungry.

That is commendable but I don't think wanting hungry people to have food or sick people to get care is exclusive to Senator Obama among Presidential candidates.

Jesus said the poor and hungry will always be with us, Obama can't stop that. It is good he cares but if you think that his election will take care of the hungry, poor and homeless, it won't. No one who is elected can end it. It will always be a part of society.

Poor people are not denied emergency care. That is illegal. So because he feels bad for people i should pay for their food and care? I'm not sure I'm for that.

Did you know Dr. Ron Paul would treat his patients that coudn't pay for free? And that he would reject Medacare and instead provide free treatment?

He simply understands that he only has the right to be generous with his money, not other peoples'.
