I upgradded my ram from 1 GB to 2 GB, and I am certain it is working.
Only thing is, nothing's faster!
Nothing loads faster, crysis doesn't have higher FPS, my computer doesn't load up faster, and nothing else is faster.

You did not say what OS you have. Win2k works well with 128MB, much better with 256 and very will with 512, more that that is useless.

WinXP needs 256, runs much better with 512 and very will with 1GB, more than that is unnecessary.

Vista will run with 512, much better with 1GB and best with 2GB.

Other peripherals all contribute such as the FSB, the hard drive speed and cache, the processor and size of the L2 cache, etc.

Changing one thing may not do much or may only give a minimal improvement.

"RAM" is good to have enough on your system when you run multiple applications at the same time.
Try to game on your computer while scanning with Norton (complete scanned); if you cannot play because it freezes all the time then you need some more of RAM or a better Graphic card. "Gig may be good enough for most applications. Do not forget to check what is the maximum you can install on your mobo.

if you're running vista you should definitely notice a speed increase and a lot less disk thrashing. with xp it won't make much difference. ram doesn't actually increase computer processing speed or anything like that, it simply reduces disk access which is a major bottleneck in most computers.

Well maybe you need a new processor or motherboard to support that ram.
