They should be fine, but no more than 4. Keep in mind though that these fish do better in larger groups. I recommend at least a 10 gallon tank. Believe it or not they are much easier to care for. In smaller tanks it is hard to maintain ph levels as well as temp. When you do your water changes these change and stress the fish. Also, when you add your fish keep an eye on the ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels as your tank could go thru a "mini-cycle".

When you change tanks, no matter the size, use the water, gravel, and filter media from the old tank. You will still go thru a cycle but it will help get it started.

Good Luck

A 10 gallon aquarium is going to be less expensive than a 5 gallon. I'm not sure why you're so gung-ho about forcing an inadequately sized tank to somehow work for the fish you want to keep. Smaller tanks become toxic more quickly when the bioload is not in balance and there is more work involved in keeping this from occuring in a smaller tank. You'd be better off with a larger tank because there is more room for error and will be less maintenance involved.

Your guppies are likely "fine" because guppies are more forgiving when it comes to poor water quality and housing. Neon tetras are less forgiving and need proper care if they are to be healthy longterm.

You really should research these animals before you buy them. Neons are sensitive to poor water quality and I get the impression that you don't intend to cycle this new tank prior to buying fish for it.

Should not be a problem. Lots of room for the fish. Just need some aeration and don't overfeed. You could put quite a few guppies and neons in a 5 gal tank. Check the water quality and try to avoid any of the crap additives from the fish store. The key to success is to start out with healthy fish. Look carefully in the store and don't buy any fish from a tank with obviously sick or distressed fish in it. It would be best for the guppies to have some nice live plants too. That will take care of the nitrogen levels. If you keep the Ph neutral, and don't overfeed, in a few weeks, you'll have lots of new guppies to share with friends.

good luck.

You really need to have 6 or more neon's, the guppies should be in a bigger tank as well. Invest in a 10g if you want to keep these fish. Guppies should be in a ratio of 3 females to 1 male.

Guppies and Neon tetras are both very small fish. They don't grow large. Yes, you could put them all together if they would get along. I have a guppy that is very aggressive. I can't put any fish smaller than her in with her, because she will kill them.

relies upon what sort of terrapin you're getting - all of them improve somewhat super, despite the fact that no longer all at diverse velocity and sizes Whichever terrapins you have, 20 gallons is definately no longer sufficient. you're paying for them as toddlers, so for now it would do. despite the fact that, in 3-4 months time you will might desire to think of approximately changing the tank. Get them interior the tank and once you spot progression of their length them purchase a larger one goodluck

rule of thumb............... for every one inch of fish you need one gallon of water. just keep that in mind and you should be fine.
