The more you learn, the less you know
the more you know, the more you know that you don't know

I believe it's about how when humanity raises its knowledge,it becomes itself more ignorant, in several aspects:

1) If someone learns how to count until 10, there will be other people that will not know how to,transforming all those people into ignorants, because only one of them knows how to count til 10.

2) The same person that learned how to count til 10 has two different ways of facing this new discover: he can either joy himself for being the only one that know how to count til 10 (making himself ignorant because he won't ever see that there is an 11) or he can ask himself the question "what comes after 10?" (triggering the sense of ignorance in himself, for if he finds out that after 10 comes an 11, he is most likely to wonder what comes after 11, making himself an everlasting ignorant).

Metaphorically speaking...Jajaja!

There's a metaphor here of learning as a vast open field. As the field gets bigger (as you learn more things), the horizon (ignorance) gets wider, as well.

knowledge refers to the things you've learned and ignorance refers to the things you haven't yet learned.

So, it essentially means that the more you learn, the more you realize how much you have yet to learn.

I think the more you learn and gain knowledge, the more you pay attention to things, and ignore things less

it is in searching for more knowledge that we know how little we can understand.

with searching for more, with finding out what really things out, we end up with more questions, harder ones which are almost impossible to know.
