They also implemented laws to keep Americans from exporting goods privately, insisting that all exports go through the crown to insure a profit for Britain. There was taxation without representation, as well as the law that allowed British soldiers to forcefully take food and board from colonists with or without their permission.

For over one hundred years Americans had not paid taxes and now Americans were expected to pay for the French and Indian War which was a continuation of the war on the European continent--without giving Americans any say in the matter.
Americans were clearly lesser life forms to the British.

The British put a very high tax on tea. The early Americans dressed up like American Indians and staged a raid on the ships and dumped the tea into the ocean. Thus called The Boston Tea Party.

Well, they starting levying taxes to help cover the costs of fighting the French. The colonists supported the war, they didn't want to struggle with the French over land/resources. However, they didn't feel they should be taxed to cover the costs.
