my shower (a kind of fancy brunch) is in a couple weeks and i'll be 8 months along. i live in new york state and it's cold and snowy and slushy. i want to be comfy, but look nice. i feel like i should wear a dress, but i don't know if i want to because of the weather, and because i need a XL for the chest and mimi and pea in the pod etc. don't carry XL. any ideas?

Ew, Mimi and Pea in the Pod don't carry XL? Dang, I didn't know that. That's disappointing.

But on to your question...I wouldn't wear a dress if it's cold and snowy and slushy and I was 8 months pregnant! I'd probably get some nice pants and a pretty top.

If I were you , I would wear a comfy semi-dressy outfit. Possibly a skirt or just some nice dress pants and nice shirt, You can basically get them anywear, make yourself look extra nice by doing your hair nicely and putting on some makeup no one will know the differance. Besides everyone knows pregnancy isn't the most "glamorous" time in a womans life so I wouldn't worry to much. Good luck and congrats!!!!

I suggest that you NOT wear a dress. When I look back at my shower pictures I think the dress does my body an injustice. I really wish I would have worn slim fitting pants with a feminine top. The dress just made me look bottom heavy because it grazed over my belly and belled out from there. I know we shouldn't be so judgemental of ourselves when pregnant, but believe me looking at these pictures makes me feel like a fat Judge Judy. Plus you'll have to find tights/nylons or wear thigh highs and who wants to mess with that?

You need feel warm and comfortable. It's very "in" in Australia to layer your clothes, have you tried a dress over a pair of pants. I saved money by wearing long sleeved shirts and jeans under my summer dresses. You can dress it up with a nice scarf.

You don't HAVE to wear a dress. Try finding a nice pair of slacks and a cute sweater with some boots.

Wear something plush and comfy and warm - like a beautiful plum or burgundy pants and top in a velour that's very snuggly!! Put on some gold earrings and a smile and that should please everyone! (the most important one being YOU!)

You can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Never let other people's words put you down just because they don't like what your wearing. Always remember that you're beautiful in whatever you wear and its not what other people say just ignore them.
