When you look into the mirror does it seem that you are looking into your mother's or your father's face? Do you find yourself saying or doing some of the same things that you saw them saying and doing when you were a child? I often see my mother when I look into the mirror and many relatives tell me I sound just like her when I speak. Does this sort of thing ever happen to you?
Thank you for your responses.

Every time I do or say something that is reminiscent of either parents behavior I feel good. It is a wonderful way to remember them.

Sometimes when I wash my hair it parts just the way my father's hair would part and when I look in the mirror I can almost see his face, it makes me feel close to him.

My mother had a wonderful gift for establishing contact with children I find I too have been blessed with this gift and it is such fun, thank you Mom.

I am becoming more and more like my mother every year. I look more like her than I did when I was young and now I find myself using so many of her expressions. Some saying will pop out of mouth that I hadn't thought of in forty years. I lost my mom when I was seventeen so it is a little strange.

Ha! I've been my mother my whole life even tho I try to fight it! LOL! When my husband met my mom for the first time, his comment to me later was "Wow, you're like a blond version of your (brunette) Mom!" - I was 19 at the time LOL!!

As time goes on, turning into my Mom is not so bad a thing. I'm 30, and everyone STILL thinks she's my older sister.

I'm gonna look GOOD when I'm her age!!! =D

Yes, it scared the crap out of me when I got my last id photo at Costco and saw my mom in the picture. It's all downhill from here.
However, I am definitely on the road to being as crazy, independent, and just plain weird as most of my dad's sisters were.

Yes it does. I go to a family Reunion about every 2 yrs. and my cousins tell me how much like my mom I look. I know I have her personality to a certain degree. I am myself, but I am very big hearted like she was. I take in all kinds of strays, people included just like she always did. For quite a while I thought I did something wrong because my pop didn't look at me. I found out that he also thought I looked to much like mom and it upset him to look at me. Now all is right with that and we get along famously. I happen to be proud to look like my mom, because in my eyes she was beautiful.

Yes, my Mother for sure. I now talk to strangers while waiting in line at the grocery, I wear comfortable pants with elastic waist bands, sensible shoes, never shop without coupons. Her best trait...I can find no fault with my darling Grandchildren.

Happy New Year All !!

I felt like I was turning into my mother and then I quit. She used to say things like, "we don't sweat; we perspire" and similar. She came from a high class background. Mine wasn't as high class. She said, "Don't use the word 'ain't'". Not to put that down, because, in the South, that word is used alot. My husband used the word and I used to criticize him. We separated from Mar. till Nov. and I told him, if he wants to say the word, go ahead. Surprisingly, he hasn't.. My mom did have a lot of good qualitites, though. I miss her (and my dad, too)..

I wish I could say "no." I am more like my mother every day and it scares the crap out of me. People have been mistaking me for her on the phone for years, but now I'm starting to act like her, too!

Yes I am. At first I was turning more into my mom, but now it's about 50/50. I look more like my mom, but I'm beginning to act more like my dad.

Oddly enough, I'm not turning into either of them. I'm very independent and stubborn. I go out of my way to think about how I do things, even mundane, everyday types of things, and I figure out the best way to go about it. My parents just do things the way they have always done things, for no good reason.
