Chicago Transit Authority (1st) The Police(Regatta de Blanc)Robert Cray (Strong Persuader)Acoustic Shack(Fret Buzz) Tommy Ray O'Dell(Unplugged). Can you feel me? Really, first time I've turned on the sound in 39 days. Took time out to get clean and sober. Yeah I know "Kind of a Drag." The real drag was the rut.

Hi to one and all. D*mn null, if I stick close maybe some of your educated palette will rub off.-Kit, how did you know, I live in what is called "Little Egypt" It is between the two rivers the mighty Mississippi and the Ohio. The closest convenience is called King Tut.------p.s. I have listened and included Nina on the blues list yet the other is new to me. Thanks null.

Congratulations! Awesome! Very good! Hurray! and Hare Krishna too! May you stay clean and sober for good. May you be happy and healthy, may you be successful in realizing your eternal highest self. Now you don't have that bondage of that substance that makes you dependent on it. You are more free now. Of course it is a process internally as well but. I am very happy for you. Peace!

music I "discovered" while you were gone...

Ne Me Quitte Pas either Jacque Brel or Nina simone... lemme know if you need a translation.

I'd never heard Nina Simone before. My goodness, what a voice. I'll have to go through the songs, but on one of them she gets that perfect brassy flair that I've only seen come off of Louis Armstrong's trumpet. Wow.....

And I'd never heard Brel before.... I love French.... I love listening to music in other languages... French makes a shopping list sound so romantic, German makes a recipe sound Satanic... try Tool's Die Eier Von Satan

Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit". Who said you couldn't feel worse? As soon as you think that, stick this in and consider what "bad times" really are. Did we leave these two women out of the best blues list? Who are other great female voices??

If you like Metal, try Laibach's "jesus crist superstar" for that apocalyptic frisson (yes, they cover that song... they also covered the whole "Let it Be" Album... Goose stepping to "I, Me, Mine is great fun... other favorite covers include Summer Breeze by Type 0

And give Hednigarna's Hippjokk "Drafur et Gildur" a shot.... tribal music for scandinavians, and the vocals (only two tracks have them) are a scream. guaranteed to have you stomping around the house:)...

I find it hard to properly rant/rave without giimme danger/Iwanna be your dog/passenger medley from Iggy.

And what could be better to mellow out to than the Swans? I especially like "I am the sun" and "She Lives" from The Great Annihilator. .creepy.

great to see you back.
