I'm coming up with alternate history possibilities based on the following described historical events.

In the year 990, Prince Vladimir adopted the Eastern Orthodox form of Christianity to remain independent of external political control, especially of the Germans. This Byzantine baptism led Russia, over time in history, into 13th century Mongol occupations and self-isolation from Europe, which included the Renaissance, the Reformation, overseas exploration/colonization, and the commercial/democratic/industrial revolutions of the 18th-20th centuries. It also led Russia as the only independent center of Orthodoxy even after the fall of Constantinople to the Turks in 1453.

I therefore look for possibilities based on the following questions. What if Prince Vladimir adopted another religion, such as Roman Catholicism, Judaism, or Islam? How would a Catholic, Jewish, or Muslim Russia affect Europe and the rest of the world? Would the Russian Revolution of 1917 be avoided?

You are asking people to do a lot of research work for you particularly since this is obviously a school assignment. Perhaps it would be best if you did this research on your own and if you can't find all the answers by all means ask again, but in the proper category ... “Education & Reference > Homework Help”. Just remember that the magic word is Homework ‘HELP', not Homework ‘Completion'. They won't do your homework for you, but they are quite willing to help. That way you are up front with your question and not cheating. Good luck!!

Your statement "This Byzantine baptism led Russia, over time in history, into 13th century Mongol occupations and self-isolation from Europe, which included the Renaissance, the Reformation, overseas exploration/colonization, and the commercial/democratic/industrial revolutions of the 18th-20th centuries" is totally incorrect: f.ex. Renaissance came to Russian architecture and painting in 16-17 century, Russians explored and colonized huge territory up to Pacific (and have not lost it); industrialization did occur not much later than in other European countries etc.

Orthodox do have faith that the Virgin Mary grew to become right into a virgin, and that Christ grew to become into "incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary", with the aid of fact the Nicene Creed teaches. in actuality, we have faith that she remained a virgin something of her existence. The jap Orthodox Church, no count number if Greek, Russian, Bulgarian, or so forth, is termed "The Holy Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church", although the term "catholic" in lots of situations confuses human beings while used that way. The Orthodox are actually not in communion with Rome and the Roman Catholic Church.

You can always go to the originals and do your own research but I'd be happy to briefly educate you on the most important things.

1. Russia didn't adopt anything, Kyivan Rus did and, believe me, there's a huge difference between them

2. The church was still one entity at that time - the Great Split was in the XI century

3. It's impossible to answer the last part of your question even for a smartest historian. Societal and/or behavioural models are extremely hard to create when one has to basically guess.
