Pains me to think I won't live my whole life. I have everything great going for me! I am not usually superstitious, but the Mayans figured it out, and I also watched a show on the Bible Code on the History Channel. They also revealed 2012 and something about the world ending. I am scared!!

Is this real?
Will the world come to an end?
Will the Terrorists destroy us?

I also watched on the history channel that in the bible code it had something to do with nuclear bombs?

Tell me opinions =]

Remember the big Y2k freak out? People thought something dreadful would happen then too.

The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. Many higher minded thinkers understand it to mean we will shift in our relationship with time by that date. Time will end as we know it and thus how we experience life will end as we know it, but it does not mean life will end!

The Mayans are wrong and 2012 is just going to slip in between 2011 & 2013 for a year. That's all my freind, don't fret it.
I've read the bible four times and in my studies I can assure you that there is no secret code there. There is a mystery concerning the end of the times as we know it but no secrets to scare you to death.
The world is not going to end. It's a myth. What is going to end is the world as you and I know it to be. The wars, pestelence, diseases, political confusion, super hurricanes, drought and so on and so on. This will come to an end.
We just don't know when.
We do know that there are signs in the Old Testament prophecies, and the Christ's prophecies, as well as the prophecies of the book of Revelation. But we don't know when it is going to happen yet.
So far as I've seen, read, and studied I can not see the end of our known world ending in 2012. Sometime after 2015 but then I couldn't say when. Only God knows that.

people have been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years.. and nothing has happened.. I think the best question is this.. if the world does not come to an end in 20 12.. what will happen to the mayans?.. the founder of the Jehovas witnesses preached about the saints coming to live in san francisco in the late 1800s or early 1900s and raised a lot of money to build a mansion for them to live in.. guess what.. it did not happen and the idiot was kicked out of the church.. and of course we all know that the saints.. went to New Orleans.. get over this crud.. if it ends in 2012.. there is nothing you do about it anyway.. so just be prepared for it to happen anyday and get on with your life..

Every few years/millennium whatever the calenders have changed. The ending of the Mayan calender is the same, just a change that requires a shift in days.
You see they Mayan calender didn't have a 'leap year' per-say that allowed the calender to 'bend,' as things changed when the sun rose and set.
If you look up calenders you will see that there are many different ones over the course of history.
The only difference with this one is that the people who created it are not around to tell us how to change it or why they felt a change is needed.

Forever people like to scare other people by saying the
world will end and it doesn't. and i think if any change will happen it will be new spiritual thinking.. The Bible says no
one knows when it will end not even Jesus, only God and
then he could change his mind.. do not worry about that stuff
i agree with that one guy who said the world won't end your
way will end.. you will probably live to a 110 ..
Peace and Love to you.

PS The history channel has been known to have some
facts wrong..

Being an atheist, I do not believe in supernatural concepts. This Mayan belief to me is one of those.

I may worry about the end of the world when I hear on CNN that Bush or Putin is about to launch those nuclear missiles or when the army reports that they lost some of their biological weapons. But no holy books of any religion can make me wonder about the end of the world.

I think you should just relax and continue to make the best of your life. :)

Every other prediction of the world coming to an end has never happened. i don't think that i would be in too much of a panic about it. Besides really if the world was going to end tomorrow there really isn't anything you can do about it so why worry.

yeah i saw that show too, and i have been trying to look into the Bible to, but no luck so far, I think there is a possibility, so now that people have an idea of an armagedon they will want to do more good in the world in order to get into heaven, or take more risks that are not agaisnt the law

The same thing that has happened at all the other doomsday predictions, like the millennium. Gullible people will be used and manipulated. And life will go on.
