My school is doing High School Musical for our play this year. I am trying out for Sharpay Evans. Does anybody have any tips on how to make my audition better. We have to sing "What I've Been Looking For" as our audition song. What should I act like during the audition? Should I be very flamboyant (I don't know if that's how you spell it), or should I just act normally? Also, any confidence tips would be great, too, because I know Sharpay is VERY self-confident, and I want to show high confidence in my audition. Any tips would work! Sorry if this whole question is confusing!

THANKS

Oh sweety, go for it with personality! Sharpay doesn't know the meaning of normal. And btw, Ryan is 'flamboyant'. Sharpay is showy :-) She has 'star quality'. Normal would be boring for her. You need to have confidence without being annoying until you're on stage in character or else people may think you are too much like her! Watch this for inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAo705H7AVw

Don't forget the outfit and hair should be perfect even for the audition! Also, make sure the accopmanist is playing the song in the Ryan and Sharpay pace and not the slower one that Gabriella and Troy sing later.

good luck,
Marianne
