All of the classes at the Red Cross are filled and I need CPR certification. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not CPR certification that is received via the internet would be valid for going to school to become an EMT. I am not asking for people to SPECULATE on whether it will work or not. It'd be best if someone has experience with this whether it be from work or school.

The ONLY classes local EMT classes accept are:

American Red Cross "CPR for the Professional Rescuer" or better

American Heart Association "Healthcare Provider" or better

National Safety Council "BLS Healthcare and Rescue Workers" or better.

Military MTN certification

As far as on-line goes- NO CPR course without hands-on training is accepted by... well, they are not accepted by anyone I know of!

Best thing to do would be to contact the EMT school that you are planning on getting certified through, and ask them if they would accept an online class. Even though some schools might, they might not, so rather than guessing, it's best to ask them directly.
Remember, the "Heartsaver" course isn't good enough, you need "CPR for the Healthcare Provider" or the equivalent through another agency.

you won't be in a position to be approved online as an EMT. you are going to be able to desire to take a actual path. The EMT classification teaches lots greater suitable than you found out in First Responder and there are so lots greater actual capabilities required. Your state well-being branch might oversee EMS and can desire to be waiting to furnish you a catalogue of approved EMT colleges they're going to take delivery of. i'm conscious that some companies present day EMT certification online, nonetheless i'm unaware of any state that at the instant accepts it as practise. the countrywide Reigistery does no longer.Neither does WA State. CA has numerous standards to be an EMT so i might strongly propose going to the well-being branch website and seeing for your self whats required. as quickly as you acquire your EMT, you could take your CEU's online.

Yes you may take the online class and use it in your EMT class. There are a lot more schools that require CPR prior to getting into class.
