Yes you can. In most of my science classes there were about 45 students, half way through about 20. At the end about 10. At least you had a death and personal experience,it is hard but not unattainable. Keep going at it. I am. I got 3 more science classes then hopefully the nursing program. Good luck.

If you do not tell them and they find out (which they will) You will be in the same boat as now, but you would have lied on your application which is grounds for being sent down.
Tell them up front what happened and that you have grown during the last year. If you could get a letter from one of your former instructors stating that you were initially passing it would go far in helping.
Good Luck

YES!
There is a nursing shortage, which is only going to get worse.
There is no need to tell the college you are applying to about past ed. experience UNless you want to transfer credits. If you have any credits to use, you should tell them. They still might take you.

i would go for an interview at the college and tell them about your mothers death and tell them how youve changed as a person and how dedicated and focused you are
if that fails try applying to another college as a freshmen
good luck
i hope you will become a nurse

you just have to be honest with them because they will find out.. some of your credits might transfer from your previous college if your new school will accept them so you wont have to take the class over..so just be honest with you new school and im sorry about your lost and i wish the best for you in your nursing career.

What happened in your first year is singularly your business...so you don't have to say anything...whether you say it or not is up to you...what is more important is that you focus and get through once you join the program now...in-case your chances will become dim - it is quite unfair so you make the call.

You may have to retake the classes you failed. Don't hide anything, the new school will get your transcripts from your old school anyway. Just explain what happened. You can overcome a bad year. I would ask to repeat that year. start over.

I know it sounds bad but.... i would call another college and see what their perspective would be... if they would let you... then why wouldnt the other ones? if not then dont tell the other school and try it anyway....

Go ahead and tell them. If they deny your application, take it to appeals and tell your story. Don't let your past govern your future. You can do it.
