My husband and I are trying to conceive a second child. Last month we had intercourse a day before I ovulated. I was scheduled to start my period on 12/8-12/9. On the morning of 12/9 I went to the bathroom and had a BM and when I wiped had some red string things (which I learned from being pregnant with my son - were broken blood cells from pushing - didn't have that before that..and not until a month ago). Then I spotted again a day or so later and then started what I thought was my period. But I am usually heavy from day one to day 5, but this time I didn't even have to wear a pad until day 3 or so, I would just have blood when I wiped. I believe I had some clots (which is normal for my period) but right now cannot remember. So I went about normal thinking, I wasn't pregnant. Well the other night I wiped and had these red strings again. Then right now after having a BM, I have them again. Now I am not sure...could I be pregnant? I took a test the other night and it came out negativ

You can bleed and still be pregnant, my sister-in-law had her period the ENTIRE pregnancy with both of my nephews. So, you possibly could be, wait a week and take a test again or go to the doctor and see what they say. Goodluck to you!!

You can bleed and be pregnant, but not have an actual period, as a period is the disposal of the unused egg and uterus lining. If there's a chance take a test, and then report the bleeding to your OB ASAP.

No, you cannot. Sometimes a pregnant woman has bleeding spells which can be interpreted for a period of menstruation, but they come from emotional stress or psychological traumas. Menstruation comes from ovulation and a pregnant woman does not ovulate.

No..you cannot be pregnant and have your period. It sounds like symptoms of endemetrosis. I would check with your gynaecologist ASAP!
