Do you agree with the daily express columnist that if everyone who wants a referendum took 5 minutes to write a letter to their MP saying that they will not vote for them again (even if they didn't vote for them before... shhhh!) if they vote against a referendum, the peole would win out against these traitor politicians

Probably, if just voting for a referendum....
It probably would also if MP's were allowed a free vote in Parliament on the Constitution, but as its not going to be a free vote,it would not make any difference at all. There are very few MP's willing to vote against the Whips. Comrade Brown will make sure every MP that he can dish the dirt on, does as he/she is told, and tows the party line.
I have written many letters/mail to just about every MP and Newspaper demanding Labour honour their pledge for a referendum,as promised in the Labour Manifesto, also attended the Pro Referendum Rally. I even dared go to my local MP's house as he lives very close to me,rather cheeky I know, but what the heck! He was very polite I must say,and did agree to back the call for a referendum....eventually!

I don't take the Daily Express, so I don't know what the referendum is aimed to achieve. The next general election will give you the opportunity to vote for a party that is pledging to make changes. As far as I can see, there are only two choices according to what you you want changed.

The BNP wants to bring the troops home, stop immigration, get out of the EU and let the public vote on difficult issues.

UKIP wants to get us out of the EU and give us more say in the way our country is run.

There seem to be two major issues, immigration and EU membership. The English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish are in fear of losing their identities because of membership of the European Union and the Labour government's daft immigration policy.

Our prisons are at bursting point, few Brits regard themselves as european, the crime rate is rising exponentially and our gates are open to drug pushers, international criminal gangs and any old joe that wants a free meal without having to work for it. What a load of mugs we must look from the outside - wherever "outside" actually starts these days.

Britain was made great by it's people. We didn't sit around on our arses until we let everything get out of control and then run away from the problems an sponge off our neighbours, while stabbing them in the back. Why she we give it all away?

I and practically everyone I know, do not like the way things are. We don't like the way our politicians waffle on about democracy when the UK isn't one. We have no constitution and religeous freaks get a seat in the House of Lords without being voted in by the citizens of our country. How can that be democratic?

We have to bite the bullet and NOT vote for the Labour, Conservative or Liberal parties. If we did that, it would make the pea-brained, who deny us our democratic rights, sit up and take notice.

If we want things to change, we have to MAKE them change and it is our right to do so. Moaning about the awful state of affairs in OUR country and then go and vote for more of the same is no good. Politicians aren't going to take notice of individuals because they aren't there for us, are they. They are there for the back handers.

OK, BNP and UKIP are politicians too, but they are the only alternatives that say that they will make BIG changes. If you throw away your vote on Labour, Conservative or the LibDems (or what ever they have chosen to call themselves today) you will just get more of the same, and that isn't good enough.

If you don't like the idea of voting for the BNP (try reading their manifesto), then UKIP is the alternative. The LIBLABCONs have all bad moutherd the other two contenders because they are a true theat to them, otherwise they would ignore them. It's a sure sign that they feel uneasy.

They can't criticise what the other parties want to do because what they want to do is what most of us want to happen.

You must have noticed that the only way Labour has stayed in power is because Tony Blair applealed to the conservative voters. He looked like a conservative and spoke like a conservative. Now we have Dark Brown, and I should think that that has ruled out a Labour win in the next election, letting the slimey Conservatives in. Doesn't look too good does it?

So to make a difference, vote for UKIP or the BNP in the next general election and then we will at least have a chance of keeping what we made instead of throwing it all away in euro-taxes and silly laws, and preventing our country being over run by the kind of folk who offer death to anyone who gives their teddy bear a name they don't like. If they had their way, Teddy Bears would be non-PC, just like Golliwogs and Tom & Jerry!

You have the answer in your hands in the shape of your vote, so use it to get the change that we need. Don't vote for more of the same, vote to make a real difference.

(I am not a member of any political party)

Although I am not a European citizen(I am American), I think a referendum would prevent the traitors from winning.
I'll go read the daily express columnist now.

I personally think that the people will not spend their time writing and sending an email, they want some one else to do it for them. Of course the MP would have to listen to his electorates.
