Often I just have to insulate myself from the world at large to avoid being contaminated by it. What is the point in laboring over something that I cannot change except on a local level? Is it not better to stay close to the earth and those like minded souls that we love? I am stunned by the beauty of nature and the kindness of those that I choose to have in my life... call me naive and self serving, but if more of us focused on things close to home?

If we don't shake the blues, I think the existential blues are likely to shake us! But not an uncommon feeling.

I have this fantasy that someday- some New Year's day, the world will make a resolution to do something that humanity can be proud of (e.g., let's make 2015 the year we were proud to be humans).

I would have said 2008, but it probably is not going to be realistic until everybody in the world has HDTV or at least an IPOD.

That Smashing Pumpkins video was a bit too upbeat for my existential dread.

A little ED is good for you. Don't worry about it (or get into the swing of things and worry a lot). Then take a deep breath, and get into balance with the cosmic flow once again.

Remember, you are never alone and you can't even imagine what the result will be from your positive efforts. When you focus on "The Here And Now" you realize that you don't have to struggle with the entire world all at once.
