DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER. I would repeat that, but just read the first sentence again.
Sure 150 is cheap. However, RAMBUS memory is discontinued, and expensive. back in the day (about 8 years ago) when it was said it would be good, it never took off, and then ddr came out. at frys its about $100 per 128 mb if you want to upgrade. I know. I was looking to upgrade my rambus memory.
This is a bad idea, because 512mb ram is very little compared to nowadays standard. So what do you need to buy cheaper ram? Get different ram. But that means get a different motherboard. And that means possibly get a different cpu.
Dont buy this computer, unless you dont ever plan to upgrade.

You don't say how much you are paying so I cannot tell if this is a good deal or not.
120 GB is adequate for disk space. 512 MB memory is not a lot - 1 GB is better for XP. A 2.4GHz CPU will be fine, but this is an older generation of Intel CPU's. Rambus memory is also older technology. While there is nothing wrong with Rambus memory, manufacturers stopped making motherboards for Rambus memory about 5 years ago. Every computer that has a network adapter is DSL or Cable ready.
Make sure that you have a legitimate copy of Wndows XP and Office. If the software is pirated, you won't be able to update it which exposes you to vulnerabilities. I am saying this because you are on a budget. If the price is very low, be careful.
You may also want to check the BBB to see if the PC builder is reputable. Ask what level of support you get. A system with older components is more likely to fail.
If you are not quite sure, check the budget PC's from Dell. When buying from the Dell Outlet, you could save quite a bit and the system will be under warrantee and reasonably new.
Still, many people are very happy with custom built systems.

Thats a good price for that rig. Its running old RD-Ram thats spendy nowadays plus the cpu is probably FSB400 or 533.
"DSL or Cable ready" just means it has LAN. Make sure to get the XP and Office 2007 disks and keys with it. It's old so dont waste a lot upgrading it--just save for a newer rig somewhere down the road.

For only $150? That sounds like a damned good deal.
120 Gb is on the lower end of hard disc sizes, but not bad for general purpose computing.

average computer nothing flash by the sounds, you have not stated what this will cost you and if you are getting monitor/ keyboard/mouse/speaker setup with this as this will help us judge the value for the price for you.
Make sure that all the software is genuine and that you get the cd's in case that you ever have to reinstall

thats a pretty slow computer. the price of 150 is appropriate but dont expect it to run fast or be up to date for long. if that is all you can afford then id say go for it but if you can pay for more you should.

It needs more ram. You should have at least a gig to help things run faster.
