Thank you everyone for the answer to my struts question! My next question is that if i get a wheel alignment for the front after the strut change, is there anything that needs to be done to thee rear? I'd hate to be driving sideways down the street!

Absolutely no need to. Struts do not change ride height or move suspension geometry.

If you had changed to lowering springs or new exact replacements you should have it re-aligned.

By changing the front struts the rear wheel alignment will not change however since you fixing up the car it would be a good idea to have a 4 wheel alignment done since you need to have the front alignment checked anyway after replacing struts on the front. Your car will drive straight and give you maximum life from your tires that way.
