I planted a purple prolific to celebrete my son's life as a family tree. It yeilded 89 figs in the first four months. It is a beautiful tree seven feet tall with main trunk and three balanced limbs after only one year. It stands to the southeast of a Golden Medalion I planted for my daugther.

Yummy the blonde ones are the best kind.
But they don't grow with walnuts stuffed inside. lol
We have a fig tree and it is the darker kind.. I don't like peeling and eating them but in recipes like fig Newtons, they work fine...

If I had to have a favorite cookie it would have to be fig newtons!! I have a small fig tree outside that a friend gave me a while back. Waiting for it to produce. Fresh figs right off the tree are deeeelicious!!

Oh man, yes. Figs are incredible.... I like all kinds except the kodota, shich make my mouth feel fuzzy... I especially like the big brown ones. I can eat pounds of them; I should plant some.

I like to slice them and poach them in a marsala or a chardonay with honey, then drizzle over vanilla ice cream ... yum.

I used to live on the Mediterranean, figs are the best summer fruit there, we used to have a white fig tree in our backyard, its fruits were so delicious, how I miss those days.

I had a fig tree where I used to live and it was really sticky and it smelled pretty bad. I do not like figs.

I have not had those for many years. The closest to that now are fig newtons.
