I've been in this boat. It is hard to gain back credibility when someone thinks you are incapable. You can either try to work this out with the boss by having them partition your work out in managable tasks, setting realistic expectations and timelines that you both agree on. If the bridge has been burnt, then I would work out the length of the contract and asked to be placed on another. If you are an independent consultant, then give some notice. Word gets around quick in the consulting world if you walk off a job.
Good luck.

If you're getting paid for doing nothing then why quit.
I think it is always good to come out in open and talk to your manager and ask him if there is anything you can do to make your relationship better. I am sure he will come around. If you like your co workers, and if you basically like what you do, then you dont have to quit. If you're a consultant, your project must finish soon, so hang in there and talk to the project manager.

I would go to your manager and ask specifically what issues he/she had with the work you did. Then, formulate a plan to address the issues. If your manager does not respond I would go to their boss and say you are not getting the feedback you need to be effective. I would only quit if you truly do not like your job and you feel the need to move on.

yes..i think so. it seems that from now on he will just look down on you, as if u are not capable of performing well on projects. if u really need the job, talk to him and let him know how u feel. then u can prove him wrong. otherwise pack your things and go....other clients may appreciate u more. at least there u will have a fresh start, clean slate.

Unfortunately, as good as we perform, we are all dispensable. Don't quit until you find another job. You know you are capable.....just had a problem with the last account....not everything turns out favourably for us....but I bet your successes far outweighs your "failures". Have faith in yourself and use your leave time wisely......start applying for other positions. Don't allow this one problem for you to lose faith in your abilities. Good luck with the job hunting.

i wouldn't quit just yet. just let things settle for a little bit. im sure he's probably just throwing a fit because he assumed you could do it, so maybe he's just avoiding you right now. dont let him get to you. if things dont ease up in like 2-4 weeks, then consider your options again, find a new job, and then file your 2 weeks ! :) good luck !

Even though it's in the wrong section, I suggest you attempt to speak to him in person. If he continues being disrespectful, I suggest looking for another job, but dont' do it without talking to him first. Best of luck.

keep going with it. if you are getting paid then there is no reason to quit, but start looking for another job. when you find one, quit. also, if he fires you, you have another job to fall back on or job interviews already lined up.
