Be happy, do not let them know that it affected you and move on.

Once I heard this: "Forgiveness is the sweetest revenge"

I just googled it and got this for one of the hits:

http://thinkexist.com/quotation/forgiveness_is_the_sweetest_revenge/209502.html

My own take on this approach goes something like this. If the person was unaware that they hurt your feelings, telling them that you forgive them might get them to think about what they say to others and/or what they say to you in the future. If the person intentionally hurt your feelings to sate a mean streak they have, or if they are a bully just trying to get your goat then telling them calmly that you have forgiven them, indicates that there is no more hurt in you from their crappy remark(s). This should demonstrate to them that they can no longer hurt your feelings. Again I think they may speak nicer in the future or go find other prey. In some instances it can be kind of a predator/prey situation and once I recognize a person as a predator I just steer clear of them.

I am 66 years old and constantly run into people my age who have not advanced from being a 2nd grade bully. They still love to tease and hurt. Most of them tend to be rather on the dumb side and as they say, "you can't fix stupid" so I just give them a wide berth.

If all else fails put some itching powder in their underpants....lol

Just walk right up to them and ask, like you sincerely don't understand, why they did or said whatever it was that they did.

Then say "I don't think I could ever purposely hurt someone the way you hurt me"
And then leave it at that.
Chances are they would prefer you getting upset, lashing out, threaten revenge ar anything BUT having to endure not only your embarrassing question, but also the humiliation of having their actions brought out in the open.

Getting them back is just stooping to their level! I know it can be difficult when you are hurt, but the best thing you can do is let it go and.... I don't know what the situation was, but... if they apologize sincerely, they obviously didn't mean it, but if not, they are not really a friend. If they have apologized and hurt you again, they really aren't worth the worry! Just don't react :)

The best way to get someone back for hurting your feelings is to not show them that they hurt you....that will bug the heck out of them. I had a friend mess around with my boyfriend, then to make herself feel better, said we weren't friends. a few months later he broke up with her, I saw her the other day and I walked up to her and gave her a big hug....she looked totally confused....now I'm happy and she's hurt....what comes around goes around.

Not talking to them, not caring what they think or say about you, going about your own life and not thinking about them at all. They're expecting you to get them back - doing nothing and staying away will hurt them more.

I think you are better than that.
It his lose , the best thing you can do is ignore the person,

that is best way you can hurt him,

believe , that really hurt, specially , if the person still love you.

take care.

Nip em with kindness, cause they will wonder crazy what you have up your sleeve!

Im serious! The more evil my ex treated me, the sweeter smile i gave him and he asked the kids "does Momma talk about me" and they tell him NO.
(and i dont where they can hear, anyhow. ! hahaha)
I TRY my best to kill him with kindness, its about the only thing that works

Hide their car keys
Tie their shoes together or steal the laces.
Toss a milkshake at their car while you happen to be driving near it.
Chewed up cheetos spat on the windshield.
or just take a whiz near their car.
