okay, we've been trying for over a year to get prego ( my mom took about that amount of time w/ each pregnancy) and that's how long it took for my first child. the last few days, my breasts are extremely tender feeling, almost swollen, but not necessarily to the touch, just a dull constant ache. they are never sore before my cycle, and i'm only 26, so it's not menopause. it's still 2 weeks til my period, and my husband has told me lately that i'm unusually moody and emotional.

my question is, is it reasonable to get my hopes up? or what are some other causes of breast pain? i should probably know the answer to all this already since i've had a child, but my last pregnacy was really mild. i was sick due to my blood sugar issues, but not many normal symptoms like vomiting, or cravings. so.
just looking for opinions, thanks for your time :) no harm in asking right?

about ovulation, i'm not 100 percent educated on when i'm supposed to, my cycle has always been a little off because of a brain tumor i had that produced too much hormones. i do know that with my first child, i was told when i should have conceived, and i know it was much earlier than that. because there was no intercourse when i should have according to the 'normal ovulation cycle'. if that makes sense :)

For my first pregnancy, I had sore breasts from about 5-8 weeks. For my second pregnancy, it happened immediately. And I mean my period was still 10 days away! I was a little shocked bc my husband had been out of town during the time I thought I would be ovulating, but obviously I was wrong. I tested with an early test four days before my expected period and got a very faint positive, but two lines = two lines. :)

The only day you get can pregnant is when you ovulate. The day you ovulate, your body releases the egg. The egg lives a maxium of 24 hours. However, sperm can live up to five days in fertile cervical mucus but most live three days. Your fertile phase are the 3-4 days prior to ovulation, the day of ovulation and the day after ovulation. In order to get pregnant, you would have to have sex during this time.

The egg would be fertilized on the day you ovulated (the day of conception). It takes the fertilized egg around a week and up to 10 days to implant into the uterus. Once the egg is implanted then your body starts releasing pregnancy hormones HCG. Prior to implantation you are not pregnant. Prior to implantation your body does not even know that you conceived.

It takes a while for the HCG to build in your system. Your body's reaction to HCG is what causes pregnancy symptoms. Home pregnancy test look for HCG to conclude pregnancy. You must have enough HCG in your urine to register a positive. There is no point in taking home pregnancy tests prior to when your period should be arriving. It is a waste of money and sanity because there is always the possibility you could be pregnant and it is not registering because you don't have enough HCG in your system yet. When you do take a home pregnancy test, use your first morning's urine. It contains the highest level of HCG.

Most women do not experience pregnancy symptoms until they are six weeks pregnant. Some feel it as early as four weeks pregnant - but that would still be at least 28 days into your cycle. And this only pertains to women who ovualte before cycle day 16.

I get cramping when I ovulate. My breasts become sore and full after I ovulate as well. Some cycles after I ovulate I get a little nausea. This is something that only started happening to me a few years ago. This is probably why when I was pregnant, I was sick as a dog for 6 weeks. The longest 6 weeks of my life.

if your period is not due for another two weeks then it is unlikely for you to have pregnancy symptoms yet as it is unlikely that a fertilized egg would have already implanted. the only way it is possible is if you ovulate very early in your cycle. it takes 4-11 days for a fertilized egg to implant in the uterus and only after implantation will any symptoms begin. you should wait until your period is due and then take a test. good luck!

It sounds a little promising but I don't want to get your hopes up since most of my symptoms didn't kick in until after 7 weeks and it could just be strong PMS. Good luck!
