Your Gift
Written by Semper Fi Reborn

I'm sorry,
But I didn't have time to wrap it,
Or pack it,
Adorn it with a bow to make it classic,
But unlike plastic,
These words biodegrade.
Yet long after I'm gone,
The message will not fade.
The song will serenade,
The ears of those that love it's message.
Like a gift given in grace.
Who will protest it?
I'm aware we may be strangers,
Seperated by this screen.
Yet in this high tech realm of secrecy,
Must I wax mean?
No, I say.
Mean is not of my forte.
But considerate whiffs of peace,
Are the gifts that I display.
Having said that,
Will you ponder what I do to cause such riffs?
Nevermind now,
I'd rather you accept this as my gift

Your gifts Semper are endless! You're so generous, gift accepted with embarrassment because I can't gift back as generously as you.

Yeah, it's a great gift, and one accepted. You have real talent. I had to come back here and go on a bit more, because talent is a scarcity not often found in things posted here. There may be glimpses... but you have the 'gift.'

Say, if you can jump over to a question called "Rating it?" put in by Tandi J and tell her I was coming right back to suggest she read "Song of the Sparrow," I would appreciate that gift as well.
I have this feeling she is reporting me (well, I know it; I can't return... man, she was quick) --because I first wrote that the answer ahead of mine made me laugh.
She must have thought that was all and that I'm mean, and I'm not, and don't mean to leave things at that. Can you find her... look for 'Tandi J' in all the names... and write that to her? for LJK.
Anybody??
Please and thanks.

That was superb!!! It's my favorite of yours so far. You have such a flair and flow with words I think you can really call your poetry "flowetry".
You are supremely talented and I hope you keep up the work. I told you before, you should try to get some of your work published or submit it to contests!!
SUPER!!!! LOVED IT!!!
You definitely have a God given talent!!
God is good and you are quite the poet!!!

Aaaah, dear Semper Fi, I always love it when you post your poetry. You brighten up my days! :)

In fact, it's nights actually, since it's already night here. I better go to bed with these beautiful words on my mind.

I'm afraid I have no other gift to offer you right now except my sincere wishes for your joy, health and prosperity.

A lot of gifts don't need the distractions of glitzy paper and bows - this one certainly doesn't. It's a beautiful poem.
