Yes, many times. I have donated whole blood, platelets, and double red cells. I also started a quarterly blood drive in my old office, and spent three years serving site coordinator. We probably averaged 120-150 units per year. I've since changed jobs, but I still donate regularly. It's a great way to give back to the community.
If you have any questions, your local blood donation center should be more than happy to discuss the process with you. Everyone I have encountered at the blood drives is very friendly and wonderful.

I used to donate it for a family friend who needed blood all of the time. Also gave a couple of times years ago. I have a rare blood type that is much needed so they always call me up and ask for blood.
I stopped giving when I realized that I don't have health insurance and if I had to buy back my own blood,I couldn't afford it. As soon as we have a good universal health insurance for everyone on earth, I will be the first in line to give blood.

Yes. Nothing to it really. To the answerer who stopped because 'most gets thrown out', just think about the benefit that the blood that does not get thrown out gives.

Yes for blood drives and also plasma. Because blood does not keep long, they are always in need of it.

Yes I try to do it a least once a year, but have some health problems so sometimes can't. (nothing that will cause harm.)
