Honestly who has got a present that they really hate. I'm sure at least once we have got a present we didn't like but pretended that we did.

I received a psychedelic painted porcelain cockerel for a wedding present from my mother in law.It stood about 18 inches tall and just as wide.It was hideous and my husband insisted it took pride of place on the window sill in the dining room.That is until i "accidentally" pushed it over smashing it to smithers whilst lovingly..ahem... dusting it.

Not hated, but didn't particularly like quite a few.
They go into my recycling box, always handy to have a few things to give away.
I wonder how many presents people receive that are 2nd/3rd/4th hand?

Never, I've received some I couldn't use, but believing that the thought is what counts I have loved all of them. When someone thinks of you, it would be crass to hate the gift. 'Tis what I think anyway.

Yes. On my 60th birthday (Xmas Day) my son bought me a bag of stones and a decorator's pasting table. That's because I had asked for help, in the garden and decorating the hall, stairs and landing.

Yeah, A fruit cake. Luckily I got it a week before Christmas. I gave it to the old people across the street from me as a gift and they were thrilled. I was happy to get rid of it.

Not really. I did get an ashtray from a co-worker many years ago that I wasn't too fond of, since I don't smoke. But it was a nice gesture.

I had a hideous hand knitted jumper once, it was too short in the body, had short sleeves, and was florescent green. I couldn't even give it away to a charity shop, they binned it!!!
