Your Gift

I'm sorry,
But I ddn't have time to wrap it,
Or pack it,
Adorn it with a bow to make it classic,
But unlike plastic,
These words biodegrade.
Yet long after I'm gone,
The message will not fade.
The song will serenade,
The ears of those that love it's message.
Like a gift given in grace.
Who will protest it?
I'm aware we may be strangers,
Seperated by this screen.
Yet in this high tech realm of secrecy,
Must I wax mean?
No, I say.
Mean is not of my forte.
But considerate whiffs of peace,
Are the gifts that I display.
Having said that,
Will you ponder what I do to cause such riffs?
Nevermind now,
I'd rather you accept this as my gift.

Matters not if you've adorned it
Paper and bows get thrown away
so you're saving a tree
that's what I say
and I toast you for bringing a poem to my screen

Brother Semper - This sounds like it was written 2,000 years ago to mankind. He, too offers a gift to everyone, the gift of salvation to those who will just simply believe and accept it. Yes it can and is a gift to me from you.
I'm glad it wasn't wrapped in a box
And also that it's given to more than just me
This group on YA is a family of sorts
And your writings I've read remind me
Of what it's like to live in the Tree
Of Life eternally.
Keep it up, it pours like honey, and the taste lingers longer.

Yes, my brother, I accept this and the true heart behind these words. God has gifted you with words...words of peace, comfort, love, realism and ever so much more! For, I know, that which you write...is given by the Lord. Surrendered you are...a very rare heart! But, God knew this right from the start. He grew you and groomed you...a soldier of sort. For God has called you to minister through words...touching hearts.
