This may make me sound ditzy, but I truly didn't know if it was possible to freeze bread. Now I wonder if you can really freeze milk or not?
The person who used the fresh bread to make toast needs to be toasted!!! I'd definately give them a piece of my mind!!

Most showers don't focus too much on the food. We had lasagna, mostaccioli, and chicken strips at the last one I went to. That is definitely one of the easiest menus to mass produce, and you'll usually end up pleasing most people, especially if you're dealing with a large crowd. If you have fewer people attending, you might consider something a little bit fancier. Just remember, the focus is on the expectant mom and baby, so if you need to, you can always order pizza. I've been to showers where the hostess did that, and everything went well. Another shower where the food went over well featured sandwiches, chips, salads, and your typical picnic foods. The most formal one I've been to served salmon. The best themed one ever had baby back ribs, baby carrots, baby corn on the cob, some mix of mini vegetables like snow peas and carrots and corn, miniature biscuits, etc. They also gave out Baby Ruth candy bars as prizes for some of the games. Appetizers run the gamut from quiche to beef and cream cheese rolls to crackers and cheese to vegetables and dip little pizza or taco rolls. Just pick something that complements your main course. If you're serving a lot of different main dishes, go with a variety of appetizers. If you're doing something small or informal, put out chips and veggies and dip and cookies. Almost everyone seems to serve cake. You can get some really great cake ideas just through a search engine. You might also consider cookies, brownies, butter cake, or cheesecake. Good luck!

The fresh breads make crispier toasts than the bread kept in the freeze. Moreover, due to reduced temperature of the bread kept in freeze,it takes almost 50 % more time to roast them properly.

well that's just typical of people that is.

best way to thaw out the bread is to pop it in a microwave if you have one for a few seconds.

the fridge is to far away...they are afraid it will take to long to toast...they are saving it for birds...they know that they will always have food in the fridge..
