I'm 5'3 and I am getting the ride of a 12h pony; there's no reason why at your height and weight you can't ride a small pony. It depends if you're going to grow though - at 33 I know I'm not going to get any bigger, but it would be very frustrating for you to get a pony then immediately grow a few inches!
It also depends on the build of the pony - eg a little welsh pony would be able to carry your height and weight better than a show pony type. You may feel completely over-horsed by anything over 15h, so if I were you I'd be looking somewhere between 13.2-14.2.

When buying a horse (or pony, in your case) it's entirely up to personal preference. As long as the horse is large enough to carry your weight, and most ponies are capable of carrying loads of weight, then you're okay.
A usual guideline is that you should just be able to see over his wither (base of neck), the next best thing is to actually ride him. This is good because while he might be the ideal height, his size or girth could be too wide, so it's best to 'try your horse on for size.'
But, this is impossible to do if you're ordering a horse from overseas, or through the net. What I'd suggest is going to a local barn, asking to ride a horse (or really just get on and walk around a bit) then take note of that horse's height and weight. This way you can search online for a horse that matches those numbers.
Good luck!

I think you might be getting to the point where your almost too big for a pony. I would go with a large pony (14.0-14.2) then you have room to grow. medium or small pony would most likely be too small. so i would def. go with a large. But big horses arent always wide... theres a horse in the barn i ride at who is reallllyyyy tall, but hes super narrow so you cant tell at all. so i might recommend looking at a small horse. a horse thats 15.1 or 15.2 really isnt that big and if he/she is narrow they'll feel even smaller. So just find a narrow horse

I'm not sure what the pounds measurment for 8stone is but judging by your height I'd say a good size for you would be like 15H minimum, but you could get away with around 14.2.
I'm 5'2 and I ride a 17HH horse, so it's more about your preference.
EDIT* Jake R, everyone who's answering on this knows that. That's like one of the first things you learn, they were merely suggesting that maybe she should look at a horse instead.
Sheesh.

while it includes loaning/paying for horses and ponies weight is greater significant than height. some freinds i be attentive to have a 13.1hh pony and somebody it is 5'8-5'9 or around that rides her, i experience her and that i'm 5'5ish. in the journey that your 6 stone you ought to very own loan or experience something between 13 and 15hh, i'm beneficial something between those 2 heights will carry 6 stone. in the journey that your finding for something which you will look sturdy on in height sensible could be ideally something like 14.a million or 14.2hh. sturdy luck!

I would say around 14 hh. However, I love tall horses. But thats personal preference really.
But yeah, around 14hh would be a good size because I am 5 ft 3 as well, so I can kinda see what you mean.

i would just look around and find a large pony that you like (as big as you can get, about 13 or 14 hh should work). im 5 feet and my pony is about 13 hh. its not really the size that matters though, its if he carries you well enough.

This is very hard to tell. It all depends. If I said go get a 14 hand pony and you got on, it could be really skinny so your legs would go farther down its sides and you would look twice as big. If I were you, I'd look between 13.2 and 15.3 hands.

i would say around 13.5 to 14 hands high for you, or you could even consider getting a small horse, i'm 5'4 and i've ridden a horse that was 16.2 hands high and i didn't have much trouble getting on her
