Both Glenn Burke and Billy Bean came out of the closet after their playing days were over.
I'm sure there have been many more, and there are likely still some active gay players in MLB.

statistically speaking, something on the order of 3% of people are gay in general (depending on whatever survey you choose to believe). Seems like a safe assumption then that 2%-3% of ballplayers are gay. Though none has ever come out while they were still active, and I doubt anyone will soon.

Some studies say 1 in 10 American male are gay, I'm sure there's been many over time but they were in the closet.

Most likely. They probably wouldn't announce it while they are currently playing, then they'd have to deal with all the press. But my guess is there are atleast a couple.
