Tough, tough question. That Laker team was the most dominant playoff team I've ever seen but, something tells me Jordan would have found a way. Also, the Bulls had a better record and would have had home court advantage (Shaq's penchant for turning it on for the playoffs costing him there.) I'm going to give a slight edge to the Bulls in game 7 at Chicago. Wow! What a series that would have been!
btw - this is assuming you meant the Bulls team that won 72 games and the Laker team that went 15-1 in the playoffs and won 68 games. I don't remember the exact years.

I think the 99-00 Los Angeles Lakers would win it, I am not at all a Chicago Bulls fan, and yet I know that they won 6 Championships, and from what I believe I have heard, and if anybody here can confrim for me, that they won 3 championships for the Los Angeles Lakers. But still is a good question, but the best team that plays good, and scores enough points will win it, and that doesn't mean that they will be in the lead for the whole game.

The Bulls. You have to remember a few things. Kobe was still a 22 year old kid going up against the GOAT and his boyhood idol. At that point in their careers, Shaq and Kobe hadn't won so they had yet to develop the confidence and swagger. Also it took a historic collapse by the Blazers for that Lakers team to even make it to the Finals that year. The Bulls had 3 of the best defensive players EVER (Jordan, Pippen and Rodman)in their respective positions. Rodman at that time had both the experience and mental edge versus Shaq to neutralize him.
Also, just for further consideration, the Bulls ran over the Magic that year against a team with Penny/Shaq combo. Penny at that time was comparable to 21-22 year old Kobe, and the Bulls swept them.
I'll give older Shaq some respect though and say the Lakers could make it a 6 game series, primarily because this Bulls team let a 64 win Sonics team go for 6 (and that was after the fact the Sonics had lost the first 3 games and probably could have been swept if the Bulls really felt the urgency).

It's impossible! Why? Because Phil Jackson & Ron Harper was apart of both teams!
Anyways,
MICHAEL JORDAN IS THE GREATEST & THE 72-10, 1996 CHICAGO BULLS WERE THE GREATEST TEAM IN HISTORY!
Bird on the Bat,
what a MORON you are? 96 & 00 is ONLY 4 years apart and the same 96 Bulls won a title in 98. Now if they were able to win in 98 (which is ONLY 2 years away from 00) at an older age then they were in 96 then I know that the 96 Bulls could of won in 00.

99-00 Lakers probably...always go with the team that's more recent with these kinds of questions. Athletes have increasingly gotten bigger and stronger over time.
I take nothing away from those great Bulls teams, though.

The Bulls win this one .If you remeber Rodman stopped Shaq already and Kobe could never hold Jordan or score against Jordan. Not to mention the other bulls supporting cast.
