ILLEGAL and gross- there is something wrong with the 18 year old (I'[ll be nice and try not to assume it's a 'he'). 4 years age diff. is no big deal when you're older, but 14 to 18 is a HUGE difference and I strongly suspect your cousin is being taken advantage of and in over their heads. You need to tell an adult in your family.

Well when I was 13/14 I went out with a 21 year old chinese guy. My Mum thought we were just friends, but I didn't let on that there was other goings on. I could've got pregnant but it never happened. Eventually it just fizzled out.In a way I suppose he just took advantage but if I had gotten pregnant I would've kept it. My Mum brought me up not to believe in abortion and I still don't! Funny thing is I have 2 younger sisters and a brother who would've never gotten to do that so I guess being the oldest her views were different at the time. By the way i'm 34 now. My oldest sister is 25 and my bro is 22. My other sis is 19. Hope this has helped you.

My opinion is - - - WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG with the 18 year old?????? He could be arrested for statutory RAPE for being with a girl so young.... other way around? then SHE could also be arrested if SHE is the one that is 18.... tell your cousin that he or she is WAY too young at 14 to be dating someone old enough to be out of HIGH SCHOOL and that she HAS TO LEGALLY WAIT at LEAST 2 years (more possibly depending on the state she lives in and what they consider the legal age of consent) to date this guy..... AND she does NOT have to "GET PREGNANT" for the guy to be legally arrested... all the guy has to do is TOUCH HER and he can be arrested....

If I was your cousin's mother and knew about this, I'd call the police on the pervert.

OK. The 18 yo probably isn't a pervert, but he or she IS an adult and adults shouldn't be romantically involved with children. The child may think he or she knows what he wants but is still a kid. Kids need to be protected from older people who want to take advantage of them.

My opinion is that is illegal, and the 18 year old is trying to take advantage of your cousin. So, telling your cousin's parents is always an option...

I'm 14 and I'm dating a 17 year old. I think it all really depends on how mature both of them are and what exactly their relationship is based off of. If the relationship is based off sex, then they need to break up. If they have true feelings for each other then I think that it's ok. Make sure that her parents know about him though and have met him, they shouldn't be aloud to be alone together though.

I don't agree with it but again it is their business. Besides if the family really saw an issue with it, they would have already tried to prevent or break the relationship.

my first serious boyfriend was when i was 14 and he was 20. we had sex after a year of being together and moved in together and split just before my 18th birthday.

my parents didnt like it but accepted i needed to do it and make my own mistakes.

yes we had sex but we were responsible and always used protection and we didnt jump into it straight away. ppl shouldnt jump to conclusions just cos there is an age gap
