I've been on Depo for 10 yrs now,it works great.

It's in your system right away, but you should always use condoms as well.

After 3 or 4 months,I would say it's safe to assume there is no chance of you getting pregnant.

Okay I had ovarian cyst in September & I decided to take depo on Oct. 19th. Every since the shot I've been bleeding everyday non stop and I haven't had sex yet while on this shot. On Dec. 7th my GYN prescribed me estrogen pills to help stop bleeding. It worked but having orgasms made me bleeding so I started bleeding again. Then on Christmas I've been bleeding heavily! But not it slowed down. But I'm still bleeding. I only had 1 shot & I'm suppose to get my second shot on January 7th. But I don't want a second shot so what should I do to get this shot out of my system?

You should use condoms for the first week or two, however even after that, it is only 99% effective (women HAVE gotten pregnant ON depo).

I would really not get this shot until you've read more reviews from women who have been ON depo.

Please read the reviews here: http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx and google "depo provera lawsuit".

TOO many women suffer horribly on this shot. I was on it as well and I only hope that my body can recover from the shot.

With all birth controls, its important to wait AT LEAST 3 months before having unprotected sex. This is to make sure it's in your system. Depo's pretty effective but like all birth control's it's not 100%. You may like it because sometimes women don't experience a period. I was totally opposite. I got my first shot and then I experienced a 110 day period.

Since it's injected not digested it gets into your blood stream ASAP. You should be A-OK & pretty much risk-free NOW!! I believe the risk is like 2-5%. It's the best BC out there in my opinion.
