can i find nearby wireless signals with a linksys ROUTER... not the wireless cards??

You can flash your router with a 3rd party BIOS from http://www.dd-wrt.com and then you will have the ability to do what you need.

A router is used for making signals, not acquiring signals. The answer to this question is no.

No. This router will not connect to other wireless routers.
