God i wish they would, have you been into a pub recently ? they stink of Piss and b.o and chemicals, i think its got so bad that its not worth going ot the pub any more,as well as the weather has been so poor that I'm Fuc*ed if I'm going to stand outside in the cold and rain for a smoke when i can stay at home enjoy a cold pint out of the fridge and smoke in the comfort of my own four walls. I feel sorry for the publicans who are losing thousands of pounds in lost trade, The pub will soon be an endangered species purely gown to a stubborn government that refused to allow the publican the choice as to whether they want their premise;s to be a smoking or non smoking premises. Freedom is no longer a option in England any more.

Only if enough people stop smoking to cause that master of taxation Gordon Brown a problem (joke). On a serious note there is no chance of it being overturned, even as a smoker I believe it`s a good thing, but don`t forget non smokers, any loss in revenue will have to be found from somewhere.
And yes, I do know Brown is P.M. now, not Chancellor..

We have a very stubborn government, I doubt they will. Think of the hunting ban everyone was outraged - I'm actually breaking the law every time I let my three dogs out because they are trained to chase and kill rabbits! Anyway, this smoking ban is rubbish but the government won't do anything about it.

Nope
It's just the first in a long line of appeasements of the liberals.
One of the next appeasements will be the pubs themselves.
Guess what, the stupid British will let it happen, just to feel good about one thing for a change, we will give up every little right to a free life and free choice.

Not a chance, thankfully.
It's great not to have smoke stinking up a pub or restaurant. It's even better hearing them whinge about their lack of freedom and rights....
(fyi, I saw a 'mother' and 'father' with fags hanging from their hands next to their child in a pram, kind of summed it up for me about the ignorance and selfishness of smokers)

No too many people dislike it....
but if someone where to say it defies human rights the government would revoke it.
They make so much money from taxes on fags that if everyone where to stop they'ed lose millions!
I don't smoke...i'm too poor

nope.. if they had any brains they should have given the pubs the choice.
profits in pubs are down because smokers don't want to go outside.. then the green brigade moan about outside heaters.. can't win.. wonder how many of them take cheap plane flights abroad..ironic.
but the ones who are moaning about smokers now moan about the smell of BO etc in pubs..
I'm getting taxed to the hilt like many more motorists also.
next they'll start on the drinkers.. I smoke but don't drink much, so it'll be a laugh to me see them moan, might know how it feels

If we can get Lily Savage in as the Prime Minister, why not? It will save so much money in the long run, I don't they will rush to over turn our Right of free will, though.
